We manufactured 8 oil tanks for Alpiq Csepel Ltd.
We manufactured special oil tanks with a cantilever design for Alpiq Csepel Ltd. Measuring 990 × 870 × 420 mm, the tanks were designed for the daily storage of lubricating oil for the engines and were manufactured from S235JR carbon steel, drawing on our more than ten years of experience in the manufacturing of chemical storage tanks.
Each tank had the same configuration, with three connections on the top and two on the side. The internal corners were reinforced with 40 × 40 × 4 mm angle steel. The finished tanks were coated with Hempadur Mastic 45880 in a 2 × 80 μm coating system.
The task
Based on the plans provided by the customer, we had to manufacture the oil tanks complete with the connections and support brackets.
Special challenge
As the tanks were manufactured in a cantilever design, particularly precise welding was required, with special care taken to ensure that the heat input did not cause distortion on the tank side.
Our solution
The single-wall tanks were manufactured from 4 mm thick S235JR carbon steel, complete with the five connections and support legs. We applied 40 × 40 × 4 mm angle steel reinforcement on the internal walls, then coated the tanks with Hempadur Mastic 45880 in a 2 × 80 μm coating system. Transport and commissioning of the completed tanks were undertaken by the customer.
